D e d ic a t io n This edition of the St. Regian is dedicated to Kenneth West who has given 23 years of service to Paul Smith's College. Ken works with students in Physics and the Physical Sciences and is pushing Paul Smith's ahead into the ever-growing world of computers. Ken was the one who set up the first computer labs here and has helped get us on-line in 1996. He has worked hard here and enjoys what he does. He loves working with enthusiastic students and says they are the best part about working here. Ken West has studied at SUNY Oswego and the University of Wisconsin, and spent his recent sabbatical at Arizona State. With a Master's Degree in Physics, students have much to learn from Ken. Students in his labs enjoy his classes and how enthusiatic he is about what he teaches. His many yeas of teaching are to be admired. Not only does Ken work with students in Physics labs, but he can always be found in the Learning Resource Center. Ken routinely saves the day when a student has lost a file or cannot print a paper. His goal is to integrate computers and education; computers have a place in education. Ken spends more time in the Learning Resource Center than he is paid to and he is always working at solving one problem or another. He has a real dedication to this college that is rare to find in most people. His fellow workers appreciate him and the students are always thankful for his presence. We all hope that Ken spends many more years here at Paul Smith's College. Ken enjoys his job here and intends on staying here for a long time; he likes the area and the college. He and his wife, Ginny, have a happy home on Osgood Pond and enjoy the friends they have made here and in the community. When they both aren't teaching. Ken likes to Cross-country ski, hike, and canoe with his wife and friends. Ginny and Ken also spend summers at Glacier National Park. Don't worry, he'll be back by September! The St. Regian would like to thank Ken West for giving so much of himself to Paul Smith's College.
