At Paul Smith's College, located on the shore of Lower St. Regis Lake, the students are offered three courses of study. The majority of students are enrolled in the Forestry Department, under the direction of Wil­ liam Rutherford. This department offers both a terminal and a pre-professional course. Both of these courses lead to the A.A.S. (Associate in Applied Science) degree. The opportunities are many for the forestry student, for he is able to see and do all of the many things connected with his profession from both the practical and theo­ retical approaches. The Hotel Department it unde' Harry J. Pur­ chase. This department alto offtfrs both a termi­ nal and a pre-professional course. Both programs award the A.A.S. degree and the terminal pro­ gram offers the opportunity to participate In the operation of a hotel. Dr. H. G. Pickett it Head of the Liberal Artt divition. Thit course offert ttudy In Englith, hit- tory, tcience, and mathematict. Studenti follow­ ing thit course are awarded the A.A. degree (Associate In Arts) upon completion of two tuc- cetsful yeart.
