Jim Bombard won the big Enterprise Golden Skis trophy winning the races held on Mt. Pisgah Feb ruary 14. Tom Torge came in second and Dave White, third. At the Middlebury Winter Carnival, which PSC attended for the first time, the team acquitted itself well in the Nordic team events, placing second in the cross country, fourth in the jump and third in the Nordic combined. In the Alpine events a fall and two disqualifications ruined the team’s chance to be among the leaders for overall score. Medals went to Axel Ingvaldsen with a third in the cross country and Tom Learned, with a third in the Nordic combined. The ski team of PSC this year worked on the con struction of a new ski-jumping area on college prop erty, just off the Keeses Mill road. The jump is a natural 30 meter jump. It was constructed so that the team jumpers would have a nearby modern jump on which to practice. The team is indebted to Roger Dion who gave much technical and manual assistance in the building of the jump. Roger Dion tried out for the Olympics. * The team working on the new ski jump in the early fall
