D ifficult as it is at this hour to recapture or convey the gre a t despair, the gre a t sense of loss that must have crowded the minds of all concerned a t the time, still w e must realize w h a t a te rrific b lo w it was to a ll. It was, in a sense, so un fair. ‘ ‘W h a t rig h t had this to happen, when we are just seeming to get started?\ This question was p ro b a b ly fo r e ­ most in the minds o f many a student during the days that fo llo w e d . M a n y were le ft w ith simply nothing to do. The function o f the College itself was im p a ired from the loss o f equipment and the loss o f space. Norm a l efficiency was disrupted, progress was halted, and hopes fo r a new science building were now gone with the w in d . Here had been a common meeting place, a College center where boredom vanished and where spirits were lightened. Here had been the center o f constructive team w o rk as those who had bu ilt the new snack bar w ill bear out. N o w it is w ith an ticip a tio n and satisfaction that w e observe the construction o f the tw o new buildings, th a t w ill replace and im p rove on the lost facilities.
