Seated- w Ba s t u d e n t c o u n c i l y^FTER a most exciting campaign of speeches, parades, posters, and shows, the outcome of the Student Coun­ cil election came as a surprise. The outnumbered L.A.‘s had their candidate elected to the presidency. Soon after school opened in September, the Council staged a picnic to welcome the new students. Later we were hosts to the frosh at a Columbus Day Dance held in the College gym,where everyone has a chance to get acquainted. As a judiciary body, our group was granted the power to try minor cases of students involved in the infraction of the rules of good conduct. Upon investigation of a prob­ lem, recommendations could be made to both student and administration in an attempt to remedy such cases. In addition, we helped with the Red Cross ond Blood Bank drives on campus. The Campus Clean Up Day in May wound up the year's activities. 39
